APSC Geophysicist Recruitment 2026 Education Qualification
Candidates must possess a Postgraduate degree in any one of the following disciplines from a government-recognized University or Institution:
* M.Sc. in Geophysics / Applied Geophysics
* M.Sc. Tech. in Applied Geophysics / Geophysics
* M.Tech. in Exploration Geophysics / Geophysics
* Integrated M.Sc.–Ph.D. in Geophysics
APSC Geophysicist Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must satisfy the following conditions:
1. Nationality & Residency
* The candidate must be an Indian Citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
* A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purpose/Employment Exchange Registration Certificate must be uploaded as proof of residency.
2.Experience
* At least 5 (Five) years of experience in Geophysical work in the Field and Laboratory.
3. Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
* Minimum Age: 21 years
* Maximum Age: 38 years
* Upper Age Relaxation: By 5 years for SC/ST candidates (up to 43 years).
* By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates (up to 41 years).
* By 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates.

APSC Geophysicist Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
1. Preliminary Exam (Screening Only)
Paper I (GS):200 Marks | 2 Hours (Marks determine Mains qualification).
Paper II (CSAT):200 Marks | 2 Hours (Qualifying only, need 33%).
Note: Includes 0.25 negative marking.
2. Main Exam (Written / Descriptive)
Consists of 6 papers (250 marks each) completed over 3 hours per paper.
Paper I: Essay
Paper II to V: General Studies (GS I, II, III, IV)
Paper VI: General Studies V (Dedicated entirely to Assam)
Total Mains Marks:1,500 Marks
3. Interview (Personality Test)
Face-to-face evaluation round.
Total Interview Marks:180 Marks
4. Final Ranking: Merit is based solely on Mains (1500) + Interview (180) = 1,680 Total Marks.
