APSC Research Assistant Recruitment 2026 Education Qualification
# A minimum qualification of 2nd Class Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from any recognized University.
Preferable Experience / Qualifications
# Diploma in Computer Application.
# Experience in dealing with subjects of Labour Laws in Government Department/Organization OR Degree/Diploma in Labour Laws/Social Works.
APSC Research Assistant Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Residency & Citizenship
* Candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
* Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
* Proof of residency: Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purpose / Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
* Minimum Age: 21 years
* Maximum Age: 38 years
Age Relaxation:
* SC / ST Candidates: 5 years (up to 43 years)
* OBC / MOBC Candidates: 3 years (up to 41 years)
* PwBD Candidates: 10 years (irrespective of category)

Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
1. Screening Examination / Written Test (Objective Type)
* If the number of applications received is large, the Commission conducts a Screening Test (OMR-based Multiple Choice Questions) to shortlist candidates.
* Subjects Covered: General Studies, General Aptitude, and Relevant Academic Subjects (Arts, Science, Commerce, Labour Laws).
2. Document Verification
* Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents along with self-attested copies during verification.
* Required Documents: Proof of Date of Birth, Academic Marksheets/Certificates, PRC/Employment Exchange Registration, Caste Certificate (if applicable), and Computer/Labour Law Experience/Diploma Certificates.
3. Interview / Viva-Voce
* Candidates qualifying the written/screening test will be called for the Personality Test / Interview.
* The interview assesses subject knowledge, communication skills, analytical ability, and general awareness.
> Note: The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Written Test/Screening Test and Interview/Viva-Voce.
