Educational Qualification:

 * Assistant Foreman (Electrical): Matriculation (10th) with a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.

The selection process for the SECL Recruitment 2026 is designed to be transparent and merit-based, focusing primarily on technical knowledge. According to the official notification, here is the step-by-step breakdown:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)

The primary mode of selection is a written examination conducted via a Computer Based Test.

 * Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

 * Total Marks: 100 Marks.

 * Duration: 90 minutes.

 * Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

 * Language: The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English.

2. Minimum Qualifying Marks

To be considered for the merit list, candidates must secure the following minimum marks in the CBT:

 * General (UR) / EWS: 50% (50 Marks)

 * OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 45% (45 Marks)

 * SC / ST: 40% (40 Marks)

3. Preparation of Merit List

 * A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the CBT.

 * No Interview: As per the Government of India's directives for these technical grades, there will be no personal interview. Selection is 100% based on the written test scores.

 * Tie-Breaking Rule: In the event of two candidates scoring the same marks, the candidate older in age (as per their matriculation certificate) will be ranked higher.

 4. Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who clear the CBT and fall within the merit zone will be called for Document Verification. You will need to produce original copies of:

 * Educational certificates (10th/Diploma).

 * Statutory technical certificates (Mining Sirdarship, Competency certificates, etc.).

 * Caste certificate (if applicable).

 * Identity proof and photograph.

5. Initial Medical Examination (IME)

Final selection is subject to the candidate being found medically fit as per the Medical Attendance Rules of Coal India Limited. Candidates must pass the Initial Medical Examination (IME) conducted by the SECL medical board before the formal appointment letter is issued.
