Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination (10th) from a recognized Board of School Education.

2. Age Limit

Candidates should be born between 01 July 2004 to 31 December 2008 (both dates inclusive).

3. Marital Status

Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must remain unmarried for the entire four-year duration of their tenure.

4. Musical Ability

 * Proficiency in tempo, pitch, and singing one complete song is required.

 * Practical skill on any musical instrument (Wind, String, Keyboard, etc.).

 * Ability to perform on instruments like Trumpet, Saxophone, Clarinet, Violin, or traditional Indian Classical instruments.

 * Note: Candidates playing "single note" instruments like Bugle or Mono-note instruments are not eligible.

Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Stage 1: Shortlisting

Candidates are first shortlisted based on two main criteria:

 * Academic Performance: Percentage of marks obtained in the Matriculation (10th) examination.

 * Musical Credentials: Validity and level of the musical certificates provided during the application.

 * Call Letters: Only shortlisted candidates will receive an email/dashboard notification to appear for the next stages, tentatively by May 2026.

Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Qualifying the PFT is mandatory to proceed to the written exam. The standards are as follows:

Stage 3: Written Examination

 * Format: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

 * Subjects: Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness (based on 10th-standard syllabus).

 * Duration: 30 minutes.

 * Language: Bilingual (Hindi & English).

 * Passing Marks: Candidates must pass each section and the aggregate (usually around 13 out of 50).

Stage 4: Music Ability Test (MAT)

This is the most critical stage for final selection. You will be evaluated on:

 * Practical Skill: Performance on your chosen instrument (Wind, String, or Keyboard).

 * Aural Aptitude: Ability to match unknown notes, maintain pitch, and tempo.

 * Theoretical Knowledge: Sight-reading of Indian Classical, Tablature, or Staff Notation and basic theory.

 * Performance: Playing a prepared piece and demonstrating scales/Raagas/Taalas.

Stage 5: Medical Examination

 * Recruitment Medical: Conducted by authorized military doctors to ensure you meet the Navy's physical and visual standards.

 * Final Enrolment Medical: A final check will be conducted at INS Chilka before the commencement of training in July 2026.

Final Merit List

The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Music Ability Test, subject to passing the PFT, Written Exam, and Medicals. The results are typically published on the official recruitment portal by late June 2026.
