Educational Qualification:
* The applicant should have passed at least Matriculation (Class 10th).
* Must possess the capacity for overall comprehension and have a mindset to assist the needy in society.

To apply for the Para Legal Volunteer positions, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Nationality & Residency:
* The applicant must be a citizen of India.
* The applicant must be a local resident of Karbi Anglong District, Assam.
Karbi Anglong District Judiciary Recruitment 2026 Salary & Pay Scale
* The posts of PLV do not carry any regular salary, remuneration, or wages except for an honorarium fixed by the National Legal Services Authority / Assam State Legal Services Authority from time to time, as per rules.
* Candidates should have a mindset to assist the needy in society with a commitment to work for free legal services, rather than looking up to the income derived from it.
Eligible Groups Who Can Apply:
Applications are expected from candidates belonging to the following groups:
* Teachers (including retired teachers)
* Retired Government servants and senior citizens
* M.S.W (Master of Social Work) students and teachers
* Anganwadi Workers
* Doctors / Physicians
* Students and Law Students (till they enroll as lawyers)
* Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs and Clubs
* Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams, and other Self-Help Groups (SHGs) including marginalized/vulnerable groups
* Educated Prisoners with good behaviour serving long-term sentences in prisons
* Spouses or adult children of currently serving defence personnel
* Any other person whom the District Legal Services Authority deems fit to be identified as a PLV.

* Incomplete applications will be rejected automatically.
* The Selection Committee will shortlist the candidates for an Interview.
* The list of shortlisted eligible candidates for the interview will be notified on the Official Notice Board and uploaded directly onto the official website: https://karbianglong.dcourts.gov.in/. No other mode of communication will be provided.
* No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview.
