RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification (as of April 1, 2026):
* JE (Civil): Minimum three years Diploma in Civil Engineering (65% marks) OR Degree in Civil Engineering (55% marks) from a recognized institute.
* JE (Electrical): Minimum three years Diploma in Electrical/Electrical and Electronic Engineering (65% marks) OR Degree in Electrical/Electrical and Electronic Engineering (55% marks).
* Note: Experience of 1-2 years in the respective field is often required for Diploma holders.
2. Age Limit (as of April 1, 2026):
* Minimum: 20 years
* Maximum: 30 years
*(Relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD as per Government norms).

RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
1. Online Competitive Examination

* Language: All sections (except English Language) will be available in both English and Hindi.
* Negative Marking: There is a penalty for wrong answers. 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted for every incorrect response.
* Cut-off Marks: Candidates must pass each individual section as well as meet an overall aggregate cut-off score to qualify for the next stage.
2. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates who qualify the online examination are shortlisted for the Language Proficiency Test.
* Nature of Test: This test is qualifying in nature. It evaluates your ability to read, write, speak, and understand the official local language of the zone you applied for (e.g., Assamese for the Guwahati office, Bengali for Kolkata, etc.).
* Exemption: If you have passed the 10th or 12th standard with the local language as one of your subjects (and can provide the certificate), you may be exempted from the LPT.
* Note: Candidates who do not pass the LPT will not be considered for the final selection, even if they score high marks in the online exam.
Final Merit List
The final selection is based on your performance in the Online Competitive Examination, provided you successfully clear the Language Proficiency Test, medical fitness standards, and document verification.
