1. Educational Qualification
* Diploma Trainee (Electrical/Civil/Survey): Full-time Regular 3-year Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline with minimum 70% marks (Pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).
* Junior Officer Trainee (HR): Three-year full-time Graduate degree (BBA/BBM/BBS or equivalent) with minimum 60% marks.
* Junior Officer Trainee (F&A): Inter CA / Inter CMA.
* Junior Technician Trainee (Survey): ITI in Surveyor trade from a recognized Institute.
2. Age Limit (As on 11.05.2026)
* Maximum Age: 27 Years.

POWERGRID Selection Process A to Z
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
All eligible candidates will first appear for an objective-type online test. This is the most critical stage.
* Total Marks: 170 Marks
* Total Questions: 170 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
* Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes)
* Marking Scheme:
* +1 Mark for every correct answer.
* -0.25 Marks (1/4th) for every wrong answer.
* Test Structure:
* Part-I (Technical/Professional Knowledge): 120 Questions (Based on your specific discipline like Electrical, Civil, HR, Finance, etc.)
* Part-II (Aptitude Test): 50 Questions (Covers Vocabulary, Verbal Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Data Sufficiency, and Interpretation).
Stage 2: Computer Skill Test / Trade Test (Qualifying)
Depending on the post you applied for, you may need to clear a practical test. This stage is Qualifying in nature only; marks obtained here will not be added to your final score.
* Junior Officer Trainee (HR & F&A): Must pass a Computer Skill Test (CST).
* Junior Technician Trainee (Survey): Must pass a Trade Test.
* Diploma Trainees: Generally no skill test is required unless specified in a regional notice; selection is based 100% on CBT marks.
Stage 3: Document Verification & Medical Exam
Candidates who clear the CBT (and the Skill/Trade test where applicable) will be called for document verification based on their rank in the merit list.
* Document Verification: You must produce all original certificates (Age, Qualification, Caste, etc.).
* Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Selected candidates must meet the physical fitness standards set by POWERGRID.
