ASTEC Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria 

For Junior Assistant:

 * Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce.

 * Special Preference: One of the three posts will prefer candidates with a Commerce background.

 * Skill Requirement: Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm in English and 25 wpm in Assamese.

For Junior Accounts Assistant:

 * Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a Major in Accountancy.

ASTEC Recruitment 2026 Salary & Pay Scale

Junior Accounts Assistant	Rs. 14,000 – 49,000	Rs. 7,400

Note: While the base pay scale is identical for both roles, the Junior Accounts Assistant carries a significantly higher Grade Pay.

ASTEC Recruitment 2026 Selection Process 

The selection process is rigorous and consists of multiple stages:

 * Initial Screening: Applications will be scrutinized based on academic records (HSLC: 25 marks, HS: 25 marks, Graduation: 50 marks). Candidates will be shortlisted for the written test in a 1:10 ratio.

 * Written Test:  Junior Assistant: 100 MCQs (Class X standard Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Current Affairs).

 * Junior Accounts Assistant: 150 marks (GK, English, Reasoning, Arithmetic, Bookkeeping, and Accountancy).

 * Skill Test (50 Marks): Shortlisted candidates (1:3 ratio) will undergo practical tests:

 * Junior Assistant: Computer typing (DTP) in English/Assamese, MS Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint.

   * Junior Accounts Assistant: Practical knowledge of IT, Tally software, Taxation, and Auditing.
