Punjab & Sind Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection Process
* The selection will be purely based on the Merit List drawn from Class 12 (HSC / 10+2) marks.
* The merit list will be prepared State-wise, District-wise, and Category-wise in descending order.
* In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
* Shortlisted candidates will have to clear Document Verification and a medical fitness assessment before joining.
1. Merit List Generation
* Basis of Selection: The final selection is purely based on the marks obtained in the Class 12 (HSC / 10+2) examination.
* Ranking Order: Candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria will be arranged in a merit list in descending order based on their 10+2 marks.
* Quotas & Segregation: The merit lists are drawn dynamically:
* State-wise
* District-wise
* Category-wise (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD)
2. Tie-Breaking Rule
* In situations where more than one candidate secures the exact same cut-off marks in the merit list, the tie will be resolved based on age.
* The older candidate (as per age in descending order) will be preferred and ranked higher in the merit list.
3. Local Language Proficiency
* Apprentices must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the official local language of the State or Union Territory they apply for.
* Candidates need to produce a school or college certificate/mark sheet (from the 8th, 10th, 12th, or Graduate level) proving that they studied that local language as one of their regular subjects.
4. Document Verification (DV)
Shortlisted candidates will be called to produce their original testimonials for validation. Essential documents to carry include:
* Printout of the submitted online application form.
* 10th standard board certificate / School leaving certificate (as proof of date of birth).
* Mark sheets and certificates for 10th, 12th (HSC), and Graduation.
* Valid Caste/Community Certificate (SC/ST/OBC with a recent non-creamy layer clause) or EWS Income & Asset Certificate, if applicable.
* Disability certificate issued by a District Medical Board (for PwBD candidates).
