CSIR-NEIST Jorhat Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
1. Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)
* Essential: Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent pass.
* Desirable: Intermediate (12th class) pass.
* Job Role: Physical maintenance of records, photocopying, sending FAX, carrying files, and assisting in basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, etc.).
2. Driver (Non-Technical)
* Essential:
* 10th Standard pass.
* Possession of a valid driving license for LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) and HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicle).
* Knowledge of motor mechanism (ability to remove minor defects).
* At least 3 years of experience driving a motor car.

Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
1. Screening of Applications
Before any testing begins, a duly constituted Screening Committee reviews all submitted online applications.
* Purpose: To verify if candidates meet the essential qualifications (10th pass, driving license for drivers, etc.).
* Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee a call for the exam. The committee may adopt higher criteria (like higher marks in the 10th standard) to shortlist a manageable number of candidates for the next round.
2. Trade Test / Skill Test (Qualifying)
Candidates who pass the screening round will be invited for a practical assessment.
* For Drivers: This is a mandatory test to check your driving proficiency for both Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV), along with your knowledge of basic motor mechanisms (fixing minor mechanical issues).
* For MTS: While the primary focus is the written exam, a skill test related to office maintenance or physical tasks may be conducted if specified during the call letter issuance.
* Nature: This stage is Qualifying in nature. You must pass it to proceed, but the marks will not be added to the final merit list.
3. Competitive Written Examination
This is the most critical stage for determining the final merit list. For CSIR MTS and Driver roles, the exam generally follows this pattern:
