Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess one of the following from a recognized University or Institute:

 * B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Telecommunication.

 * OR Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

Mandatory Requirement:

 * Candidates must have a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC).

 * Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok language.

Age Limit (As of 05/06/2026):

 * Minimum Age: 18 Years

 * Maximum Age: 40 Years

 * *Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules (5 years for SC/ST/PH and Govt. employees).

(TPSC) Recruitment 2026 Selection Process 

The selection process for the Assistant Technical Officer (Group-B Gazetted) recruitment under TPSC consists of two main stages: a Written Examination and a Personality Test.

Stage 1: Written Examination (MCQ Type)

The written exam is objective and carries a total of 170 marks. Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the entire paper. It is divided into two parts:

 * Part I: General Ability Test (50 Marks)

   * General English (25 Marks): Focuses on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.

   * General Knowledge & Current Affairs (25 Marks): Covers local, national, and international events, with a focus on Tripura.

 * Part II: Engineering/Technical Subject (120 Marks)

   * This section tests core knowledge based on the educational qualifications required (Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or MCA).

Stage 2: Personality Test / Interview

 * Total Marks: 30

 * Candidates who clear the written examination based on the cut-off marks will be invited for the interview.

 * The interview evaluates the candidate’s technical knowledge, communication skills, and suitability for a Gazetted role in the Information Technology department.

Final Merit List

The final selection list is prepared by combining the marks obtained in the Written Examination (170) and the Personality Test (30), totaling 200 marks.

Important Note on Negative Marking:

As per standard TPSC guidelines for MCQ exams, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. It is advisable to answer only those questions you are certain about to avoid losing marks.
