To be eligible for the various translator posts, you must meet one of the following academic criteria AND the professional requirement.

* Option A: Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject (or as the medium of examination) at the degree level.
* Option B: Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject (or as the medium of examination) at the degree level.
* Option C: Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject at the degree level.
* Option D: Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject at the degree level.
Professional Requirement (Mandatory):
In addition to the degrees above, you must have:
1. A recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa; OR
2. Two years of experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Offices (including Government of India Undertakings).

1. Nationality
A candidate must be either:
* A citizen of India, or
* A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
* A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement.
* A person of Indian origin migrated from specific countries (like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, etc.) for permanent settlement.

The selection will be based on two main stages:
1. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): Objective type covering General Hindi and General English.
