ICAI Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria 

Eligibility varies based on the discipline. Most entry-level Executive Officer roles do not require experience, making this a perfect start for freshers.

 * Executive Officer (CA): Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant. (Experience: Not Essential).

 * Executive Officer (Legal): Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB). (Experience: Not Essential).

 * Executive Officer (IT/Infrastructure/Economics): Relevant degree + 2 years of experience.

 * Director (Legal): Law degree with 22 years of experience.

Age Limit (as of 28.02.2026):

 * Executive Officer (CA/Legal/CS): Max 25 years

 * Executive Officer (IT/Infrastructure): Max 27 years

 * Executive Officer (Sustainability/Economics): Max 30 years

 * Director (Legal): Max 55 years

ICAI offers a highly competitive compensation package.

 * Executive Officer Salary: Approximately ₹15.51 Lakhs per annum (Pay Level 10).

 * Director Salary: Pay Level 16 (Senior Grade).

The exam consists of two main sections: General and Technical. It is a mix of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Descriptive writing.

Legal (Code 2603)

 * Constitutional Law & Administrative Law.

 * The Indian Contract Act, Arbitration & Conciliation Act.

 * CPC, CrPC (BNSS), and IPC (BNS).

 * Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), RTI, and Consumer Protection Act.

 Information Technology (Code 2608)

 * Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and IT Governance (ISO 27001).

 * Web Portal Development, Database Management (DBMS).

 * Emerging Tech: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Block Chain, and Cloud Computing (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Other Disciplines:
