APPSC TGT Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To apply for these posts, you must meet the following educational and age requirements:
* Educational Qualification:
* Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum Second-Class in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university. You must have studied the concerned subject in all years/semesters of your degree.
* Professional Degree: A B.Ed (General) from an NCTE-recognized institute is mandatory. (Note: B.Ed Special Education is not eligible).
* Final year students are not eligible to apply.
* Age Limit (As of April 27, 2026):
* Minimum: 21 years
* Maximum: 35 years
* Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable for APST and other categories as per state government rules.

APPSC TGT Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for the APPSC Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) 2026 is a merit-based system designed to evaluate both your academic depth and your practical teaching skills. It consists of two main stages totaling 500 marks.
Stage 1: Written Examination (Objective Type)
The written exam is the primary screening tool. It consists of two papers, both featuring Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

* Negative Marking: Be careful! There is a penalty of 1/6th mark for every wrong answer.
* Qualifying Criteria: To be eligible for the next stage, you must score:
* Minimum 33% in aggregate (both papers combined).
* Minimum 20% in each individual paper.
* (Note: PwBD candidates have a relaxed criteria of 20% aggregate and 10% per paper).
Stage 2: Viva-Voce & Classroom Teaching
Candidates are shortlisted for this stage in a 3:1 ratio (three candidates for every one vacancy) based on their written exam scores.
* Total Marks: 50 Marks
* Focus: This stage isn't just an interview; it includes a Classroom Teaching demonstration. The commission evaluates your communication skills, personality, and your ability to manage and explain concepts in a real classroom setting.
Final Selection & Tie-Breaking
* Final Merit List: Prepared based on the total marks obtained in the Written Exam (450) + Viva-Voce/Teaching (50) = 500 Marks.
* Document Verification: After the merit list is released, you must produce original documents (Degree, B.Ed, APST/PRC, etc.). If any information is found incorrect at this stage, your candidature will be cancelled immediately.
Tentative Timeline
* Written Exam: Tentatively scheduled for July 12, 2026 (Sunday).
* Viva-Voce: Expected to be conducted around October 2026.
