Admissions are open for Class VI and Class VIII across seven operational EMRS locations in the state.

Note: Most schools offer 60 seats per class (30 Male, 30 Female), promoting equal educational opportunities for all.

Before applying, ensure the candidate meets these requirements:

• Residency: Must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.

• Family Income: Annual family income must not exceed ₹5 Lakhs.

Age Limit (as of 31/03/2026):

• Class VI: 10 to 13 years.

• Class VIII: 12 to 14 years.

*         #    For Class VI: Must have passed Class V. 

          #    For Class VIII: Must have passed Class VII.

Exam Timing (22.02.2026):

#    Class VI: 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM 

#    Class VIII: 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM 

Subjects Covered: 

Class VI: 

Mental Ability, Arithmetic, English, and Regional Language (Assamese/Bodo/Bengali/Hindi).

Class VIII: 

Mental Ability, General Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, English, and Regional Language.

(EMRS) Assam 2026-27 Admission How to apply 

Applicants need to visit official  portal for submission of online application this scheme. One needs to follow below mentioned steps to apply online.

Step 1: Scroll down, go to Important Web Links section.

Step 2: Click on One-Time Registration link .

Step 3: A new webpage will be opened.

Step 4: Enter your details as required in the portal; and register yourself.

Step 5: After registration, Click on Online Application Form and Login.
 
Step 6: Enter all credentials and upload your documents as required in the portal.

Step 7: Finally click on "Submit" and take print out of your submitted application.

Since the exam is merit-based, focus your preparation on Mental Ability and Mathematics, as these often carry significant weight in EMRS entrance tests!
