Branch Postmaster (BPM): Manages the Branch Post Office, handles mail delivery, and promotes IPPB (India Post Payments Bank) services.

​The salary for GDS is provided in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA):

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026  Eligibility Criteria

​Educational Qualification:

​10th Standard Pass: Must have passed the Secondary School Examination with passing marks in Mathematics and English.

​Local Language: You must have studied the local language of the applied circle at least up to the 10th standard.

​Others: Basic knowledge of computers, cycling, and having an adequate means of livelihood are mandatory.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process (No Exam!)

​One of the biggest advantages of the GDS recruitment is that there is no written examination.

​Merit-Based Selection: Candidates are shortlisted based on their 10th-standard marks (calculated to 4 decimal places).

​Automatic Generation: The merit list is system-generated based on the data provided by the applicant.

​Document Verification: Once shortlisted, candidates must attend a document verification (DV) process at the designated venue.

Applicants need to visit official  portal for submission of online application this scheme. One needs to follow below mentioned steps to apply online.



Step 1: Scroll down, go to Important Web Links section.

Step 2: Click on One-Time Registration link .

Step 3: A new webpage will be opened.

Step 4: Enter your details as required in the portal; and register yourself.

Step 5: After registration, Click on Online Application Form and Login.
 
Step 6: Enter all credentials and upload your documents as required in the portal.

Step 7: Finally click on "Submit" and take print out of your submitted application. 

Upload Documents: Upload a scanned photograph (max 50kb) and signature (max 20kb) in JPG format.
